Fare thee well: Boxing champ Manyuchi spikes his gloves
Harare- INTERNATIONAL boxing champion Charles Manyuchi is spiking his gloves at the age of 33, Express Mail Zim can report.
The multiple title holder will mark his retirement from proffesional wrestling with his last bout on May 28.
He will exchange blows with Sherrif Kasongo from the Democratic Republic of Congo in a non-title fight dubbed “The Grand Finale”.
The bout is dedicated to the numerous people who have walked with him in his journey that took him to stardorm.
“My fans have always been there for me, they are the owners of the game and always grant me a hero’s welcome when I returned from international shows,” said Manyuchi.
The grand finale will also feature other bouts including Clever Sithole vs Thembani Muhlanga, Evans Usaiwevhu vs Thembani Muhlanga, Jeremiah Mhere vs Sydney Baloyi among other legends.
Manyuchi has a decorated career which has seen him scooping five good medals at the All Africa Games as an amateur.
He cut his teeth as a professional boxer in 2009 after being discovered by businessman Edson Zvobgo.
He was rewarded for flying the country ‘s flag high and government chipped in to appreciate his exploits in the ring.
