False claims aimed at destabilising Zimbabwe intensifies ahead of Geza second phase

By Tendai Mangwende
Harare-A coordinated disinformation campaign aimed at inciting public anger and undermining national stability has been exposed, as unfounded allegations against key figures in the First Family surface ahead of a planned second demonstration led by Geza and his allies. These malicious claims, designed to destabilize the government and force President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s resignation, are part of a broader political strategy to disrupt progress and create chaos.
The claims suggesting that Sean Mnangagwa is jeopardizing national security through favoritism in military promotions and unethical dealings with individuals like Maxwell Chikumbutso and Uebert Angel are entirely without merit. Investigations show no evidence to support allegations that any payments were made in exchange for access to the President or government positions. These are recycled lies intended to discredit Sean’s growing reputation as a patriotic and capable young leader.
Further assertions that Collins Mnangagwa is involved in corrupt tender practices and was behind the departure of former RBZ Governor John Mangudya are not only false but dangerously misleading. Official procurement records confirm that all government tenders undergo standard due diligence and competitive processes. Linking Collins to individuals like Delish Nguwaya, Kuda Tagwirei, or Wicknell Chivayo without any credible evidence is an intentional distortion designed to manipulate public perception.
The most outrageous claim is that of “Junior” wielding unchecked power over Cabinet decisions and Treasury operations. The idea that one individual, outside of elected government structures, could direct ministers and control national expenditure is not only logistically implausible but directly contradicted by Zimbabwe’s institutional checks and balances. Such unfounded accusations only serve to distract from the real issues affecting Zimbabweans.
It is especially telling that these wild allegations have been timed to stir emotions and build public momentum for another demonstration. The language and sequencing suggest a deliberate and calculated political move rather than a genuine whistleblowing effort.
The so-called “$18 billion” fortune allegedly accumulated by the three individuals in under a decade is a figure plucked from thin air. No verifiable evidence has been produced to support such a ridiculous valuation. These baseless figures are part of a propaganda operation intended to erode public trust in government, create division, and ultimately destabilize the country.
The public is urged to treat these allegations for what they are: politically motivated falsehoods. As the nation prepares for a critical economic recovery phase, it is vital that Zimbabweans remain vigilant against disinformation campaigns engineered to derail progress and sow division. The architects of this propaganda seek not truth or justice, but power through chaos.
Let it be clear: Zimbabwe will not be held hostage by lies. The country’s leadership remains committed to transparency, stability, and economic development — no matter the noise from those who profit from disunity.
