Exodus begins: Heal Us Zim embarks on month-long journey around Zim in fight against drug abuse
The project is a brainchild of photo-journalist Columbus Mushore who was once trapped in the grip of crystal meth,but found his way to recovery and vowed to help others battling similar demons.

Harare- Heal Us Zimbabwe, a non-profit organization dedicated to combating drug and substance abuse, has launched a comprehensive campaign to raise awareness about the dangers of addiction and provide support for rehabilitation and reintegration
The organization is taking its mission on the road, embarking on a month-long journey around Zimbabwe to bring their message to communities across the country,which commences Wednesday (today).
The project is a brainchild of photo-journalist and reformed drug addict Columbus Mushore.
He had his ‘Damascene Moment” and saw the light hence took it upon himself to educate other youths.
The campaign is dubbed the “Exodus,” .
“The campaign aims to reach thousands of individuals and families affected by drug and substance abuse. Heal Us Zimbabwe’s team of experts, including counselors, mentors, and medical professionals, will provide free counseling, support, and resources to those in need,” said Mushore who hails from Sunningdale where drug abuse is rampant at places called “kumabase”.
“The Exodus journey will take us to major cities and rural areas, where we will engage with community leaders, religious groups, and local organizations to spread our message of hope and healing,” added Mushore.
He said they will embark on public events, workshops, and one-on-one consultations.
“As Heal Us Zimbabwe we hope to make a lasting impact on the lives of Zimbabweans struggling with addiction,he said.
