Exclusive : CCC candidate imposition exposed,Ruwa Constituency under scrutiny
Harare- THE main opposition political party Citizens Coalition For Change (CCC) is emasculating its chances of deposing the ruling party in the August 23 harmonised elections through lack of strategy , imposition of candidates and massive bribery,Express Mail Zim can reveal.
CCC has piled blame on the Central Intelligence Organisation affiliate Friends Association of Zimbabwe (FAZ) for double candidature, but investigations established that it was an internal strife ,bribery and imposition of preffered candidates by party President Nelson Chamisa.
Case in point is an incident in Ruwa Central that Express Mail Zim can authoritatively reveal.
There was no involvement of FAZ but hordes of cash exchanged hands to influence the final candidate.
Ihe nomination process was in shambles.
CCC convened a caucus meeting and aspiring House of Assembly candidate Tapiwa Choruwa won and his name was submitted to the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) on the official party list.
” They had a caucas meeting and Choruwa triumphed but interestingly the man who came fourth Thomas Muodzeri was the one who made it on the final list under unclear circumstances.
“We love our president (Chamisa) but people surrounding him act just like criminals who surrounded Mugabe (the late Robert Mugabe).
“Of course God is in it but most of his top cadres are in it for the money and they ill advise him and feed him with poisonous strategies,” said a staunch CCC supporter who is resident in Ruwa and preffered anonymity in fear of reprisal.
Express Mail Zim can authoratively reveal that the eventual preffered candidate Muodzeri paid US$14 000 to chief election agent and close Chamisa ally Jameson Timba to change the names on the nomination day.
“Before paying Timba, Muodzeri paid US$2000 to the two clerical commissioners and they replaced Ebenezer Kundita.
‘If you check the original final list of Mash East Ruwa Central, Muodzeri (Thomas) was not in the top three,” further revealed our reliable source.
The architect and bishop of the FAZ infiltration gospel blame game is Chamisa through his ‘master plan’ dubbed strategic ambiguity.
The party refused timeously release and file names of candidates when Zec opened Nomination Court on June 10.
Award winning investigative journalist Hopewell Chin’ono also questioned Chamisa’s ill fated strategy.
‘Chamisa said he had a master plan called strategic ambiguity , it wasn’t strategic after all,” tweeted Chin’ono.
