Eswatini to replicate Geo-Pomona waste management model

Harare- The kingdom of Eswatini has expressed keen interest to replicate the Geo-Pomona waste management model,Express Mail Zim can report.

This follows a site tour by the kingdom’s prime minister Russel Mmiso Dhlamini on Wednesday.
Dlamini was accompanied by his country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Pholile Paulette Dlamini Shakantu.

He was hosted by Minister of Skills, Audit and Development, Professor Paul Mavhima, and Geo Pomona Waste Management chief executive officer and executive chairman, Dr Dilesh Nguwaya, led the delegation in touring the plant.

Meanwhile, European Union ambassador to Zimbabwe Jonathan Von Kirchmann showered praises on the project and it’s merits in sustainable development and innovation.

“This project demonstrates that with the right investment and innovation, waste can be transformed into a valuable resource. It is inspiring to see Zimbabwe taking bold steps in this direction,” Von Kirchmann said.

The project has not only addressed waste management concerns, but has also created jobs for hundreds of locals and introduced environmentally-friendly technologies to the region.

Geo Pomona Waste Management executive chairperson Dilesh Nguwaya said he was happy that the project was getting attention from across the globe.

“Our mission is to turn Harare into a clean and green city while contributing to energy security. We are proud to be recognised in Africa and abroad,” he said.This project demonstrates that with the right investment and innovation, waste can be transformed into a valuable resource. It is inspiring to see Zimbabwe taking bold steps in this direction,” Von Kirchmann said.
