Epoch: Is Zim ready for female President?….as Valerio wins court appeal against ZEC

Harare- UNITED Zimbabwe Alliance (UZA) leader Elizabeth Valerio has scored a historic victory to become the sole female Presidential candidate in the forthcoming August 23 harmonised elections.

She successfully appealed against the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC,)’s ruling to trash her nomination papers and she is now part of the race to be the First Citizen.

She has already embarked on a meet the people campaign in Harare Wednesday afternoon with intention of spreading the campaign across all the provinces in the country.
“I have already started a meet the people campaign in full throttle,” she told Express Mail Zim.

Express Mail Zim will Wednesday afternoon publish a candid and no holds bars wide range interview with the firebrand ‘iron lady’ as she spells out her take on various issues including land, economy , gender , LGBT , education ,rural development among other issues.

A successful businesswoman in her own right , Valerio is adamant that she has what it takes to overturn the status quo via a democratic electoral process.

She has a touch with ghetto having spent of her childhood in the mid 1970s in her parent’s grocery store at Machipisa Shop ing centre in Highfield – a hotbed of the African political movements.

After graduating as a bio-chemist in the United States she returned home and settled in Hwange.
