Dog eat dog :Aspiring Zanu PF primary elections candidates’ CVs under rigorous scrutiny
Harare- ASPIRING Zanu PF candidates for the forthcoming primary elections will not have an easy walk in the park as the party’s security department has vowed to conduct a rigorous vetting process,Express Mail Zim can report.
The ruling party ‘s national political commissar and former First Lady Grace Mugabe (nee Marufu)’s relative Mike Bimha did not mince his words when he made the announcement Tuesday.
He said vetting will be completed Wednesday by end of working hours .
Said Bimha:
“We anticipate that after the vetting exercise tomorrow (Wednesday) at 5pm , we will have a special commitee that looks into the complaints which will then convene to look into complaints one by one and make reccomendations and suggestions.”
The ruling party is pressed with limited time to complete the process as the deadline for the primary elections is at the eleventh hour .
Dozens of CVs have been submitted with ‘illegal’ campaigns having started a fortnight ago with a lot of bickering between aspiring candidates across all provinces .
The delimitation report also escarbated rivalry with special mention of Glen View North where real estate mogul and socialite Tumelo Zamangwe is throwing punches in the ring with businessman Martin Mambo in the same constituency.
Both politicians command a huge following with the youths as they resonate with that age group because of their ages.
Mt Pleasant constituency also has another youthful candidate in the person of football adminstrator and businessman Beadle Gwasira who seem to win the contest with hands tied behind his back like Mahommed Ali in his legendary fight in Africa where he “flew like a butterfly and stung like a bee”.
Gwasira has endeared himself with the electorate through several empowerment programmes.
In Mash East, Seke had the likes of Munyaradzi Kashambe popularly known as Maoresa befitting his energy in the constituency where he has done justice to his nickname and shined bright like a diamond.
On Friday Maoresa has a soccer tourney designed to discover talent from the youths and put them away from drugs.
It’s a dog it eat dog scenario in the primary elections but Zanu PF has instilled the zenith of discipline in the vetting process and to the aspiring candidates ,where those who are found wanting face disqualification.
