Cyber scammers create fake payment platform for Rick Ross concert tickets
Harare- FAKING the funk!
Cheeky cyber scammers have created a fake online payment platform for tickets allowing access to the much hyped Rick Ross Concert scheduled for November 17 in Harare,Express Mail Zim can report.
The concert is being bankrolled by global media and entertainment company ROAR Entertainment.
The company has categorically stated that they have no links whatsoever with the fake link circulating on social media purporting to be the official payment platform for the show tickets.
ROAR Entertainment spokesperson and former manageress to the late Genius Kadungure Ms Shally rubbished the fake link that was engineered by cyber scammers in an attempt to fleece music lovers.
“Please note that the link is fake. ROAR Entertainment will officially announce when tickets are available for sale follow @roarentertainmentafrica for updates,” she said.
The concert organisers have already revealed the ticket prices for the show amid reports that only 4 500 tickets would be available.
General access early-bird tickets are pegged at US$50 per head, while the early-bird VIP ticket is going for US$150 and available until August 31.
The official payment platform and method will be duly communicated in due course.
In another development , hip -hop afficiaoanados begged organisers not to include non-hip hop heads like Jah Prayzah ,Winky D and Mark Ngwazi among others on the line up as it will kill the funk of the “culture’. Hip Hop is a lifestyle and way of life and having the likes of Jah Prayzah will be injustice to the movement, argued some section of fans. However, others further argued that Winky D must be included since dancehall and hip hop have a historic symbiotic relationship and have a common denominator of celebrating ‘blackness and consciousness’ This claim can be given credence by the inclusion of dancehall artistes at hip hop concerts and vice-versa.
Dancehall artistes have made renditions of RnB and hip hop tracks and went platinum.
Ms Shally assured that the concert will be 80 percent hip hop to the ‘bone’.
“We haven’t really picked up yet on opening acts, it’s something we are still applying our head around. But one thing I can say to you is that we are going to pick artists that Zimbabwe hasn’t used to open for big acts. We have heard people’s concerns and we are promising to put on different artists on this show,” she told top local hip hop publication Zimbuzz.
Ms Shally said they were going to use local MCs for the Rick Ross show. She added that they were going to spice up the show which will be 80% hip hop. She said:
“We are going to spice it up a bit but I can guarantee you that the acts on the day will be 80 percent hip hop, the other 20 percent is just to spice it up a bit.
Interestingly ,the concert will be held on the same date that the Second Republic was born via a military intervention a sign that shows patriotism by the organiser as they complement government efforts to promote tourism and Destination Zimbabwe.Tourism is a key pillar in contributing to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
