Croco motors director Chingwena in USD95k tanker trailer theft storm

HARARE- ONE of scandal-ridden Croco Motors directors Wayne Chingwena is under fire for allegedly duping a client and stole USD95 0000 worth of trailer he had purportedly sold ,Express Mail Zim has heard.
The 33-year old Chingwena is son to founder Moses who is also no stranger to the courts after killing a pedestrian in a drink and driving hit.
Wayne appeared in court and was answering to theft of motor vehicle charges as defined in Section 113(1)(a)(b) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act Chapter 9:23 as read with Section 2 of the Road Traffic Act Chapter 13:11
Circumstances are that during the period extending from August 24 2023 and September 5 2023 at Number 114 Seke Road, Graniteside, Harare, Wayne unlawfully took property namely a Tanker Trailer without number plates, chasiss number L3K93VGG3POY00541, VIN number V1717095, white in colour.
The alleged crime was premedidated as he was in full knowledge that he had sold the vehicle to one William Ndava .
“He knew that William Ndava was entitled to own, possess or control the property or realizing that there was real risk or possibility that William Ndava might be so entitied and intending to deprive William Ndava permanently or realizing that there was a real risk or possibility that William Ndava might be deprived of that ownership, possession or control,” read part of the charge sheet.
Chingwena seemed unpertubed when he came to the court yard with speculation that he banked on his father’s influence and alleged capture of the judiciary system.
Croco Motors has a contract of servicing the Judicial Services Commision fleet including Walter Chikwanha’s car.
Croco Motors’ propensity to influence the judiciary is laid bare in a recent case against motorist Kudzayi Mundangepfupfu who filed a complaint with the JSC against a Harare magistrate alleging bias, prejudice,and violation of her constitutional rights in a criminal matter she had against Croco Motors.
Croco Motors has refuelled wrong fuel to her Mercedes Benz , but through its alleged traditional modus operandi, the company pumped in cash to make sure the outcome is in their favour.
The managing director Wesley Chingwena’s mobile phone was unreachable at the time of writing and Moses’ phone was not answered at the same material time.
In court,Wayne piled the blame on his clearing agent on unexplicable grounds of argument.
