Convicted Rushwaya to know of her fate next week
Harare- THE Anti-Corruption Court at the High Court on Friday postponed the sentencing of Henrietta Rushwaya to Tuesday next week.
This means she will spend another weekend behind bars.
Rushwaya was last week convicted for smuggling 6kg of gold worth more than US$333 000 to Dubai three years ago and was remanded in custody and sentence was supposed to be handed down Friday.
However, Justice Pisirayi Kwenda postponed the matter to next week for the defence, and State counsel to address the court on the sentencing in terms of the new guidelines.
Rushwaya was Dubai bound when she was nabbed carrying the gold in her handbag at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport on October 26, 2020.
