Chamvari ends decade long ‘romance’ with Power FM, remains mum on next ‘date’

Harare- CHARISMATIC and award winning radio personality Rumbidzai Mugwira aka Chamvary has left Power FM after serving the station for more than a decade.

Chamvary has kept her next move close to her chest.

Her claim to fame  was her popular  show Centre Stage where she grilled several artistes in no holds bars interviews .

For the past month, speculative reports of her imminent departure did rounds but she refuted probably to serve her notice .

The free spirited belle however made the ‘heartbreaking’ announcement this week.

” After 10 years, 1 month and 8 days of working for the amazing @powerfmzimbabwe I bade farewell on Friday 12 August 2022 to the station that moulded me to be the broadcaster I am today.

“A national award and such deep experience that could never be bought are just two of the highlights from my time at Power.

“All calls and messages that I got from my beloved co-workers over the weekend showed me how much of a family (not only team) we were. “Good thing tichasangana hedu muma streets – I love them all,” she said.

Chamvary joined the station at a time when it was at its peak causing shockwaves from the Midlands capital of Gweru.

 She has since managed to build a solid brand in broadcasting and cultivated a wide network of ‘A listers’ buoyed by her uptown upbringing! H

Her inimitable voice and diction endeared her to many a radio listener.
