CAPS United has promised its players a cash reward of $1,000 each if they manage to secure a victory over Premier Soccer League (PSL) leaders Simba Bhora in their upcoming match at Wadzanayi Stadium in Shamva, set for Saturday, November 2.

According to The Herald, CAPS United president Farai Jere revealed that the club’s use of incentives has proven effective, helping to motivate players and yield positive results.

Jere commented, “Yes, we are offering them that amount for a win against Simba Bhora. This strategy has brought us victories, and we’re continuing with it.”

Reflecting on the upcoming game, CAPS United head coach Lloyd Chitembwe conveyed his intent to “correct past mistakes” as his team seeks redemption after a narrow 1-0 loss to Simba Bhora earlier this season. Chitembwe commended Simba Bhora’s head coach, Tonderai Ndiraya, for defying the odds and steering the team to strong performances.

He stated, “First, I want to congratulate coach Tonderai Ndiraya. He’s done well with Simba Bhora against all expectations, and I’m glad to see his success recognized. Many doubted his abilities, but he’s proven his worth.”

Chitembwe also acknowledged the importance of Saturday’s match, expressing his determination to secure a different outcome this time. “We controlled the previous game at Rufaro but ended up losing to a free kick—a disappointment we’re keen to rectify. This match offers us the chance to set things right.”

While hopeful of a win, Chitembwe also noted Simba Bhora’s recent momentum, calling them “a dangerous team” due to their solid run of performances and key victories.

A win for Simba Bhora would further solidify their position at the top, extending their lead over second-placed FC Platinum to nine points. Meanwhile, FC Platinum will aim to narrow the gap when they meet Dynamos at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday.
