Breaking:SA based business tycoon Mutumwa Mawere hospitalised

The businessman recently approached the South African courts seeking to bar President Cyril Ramaphosa from contesting in the general elections until he deals with the issue of Zimbabwe’s Reconstruction of State-Indebted Insolvent Companies Act.

Johanneburg- EXILED businessman Mutumwa Dziva Mawere has been hospitalised Thursday afternoon,Express Mail Zim can exclusively reveal.

The businessman is said to have suffered a stroke and preceding this incident, he had become a pale shadow of his former self- involving himself in triviality like fighting the late Genius Kadungure on social media.

In a telephone interview with Express Mail Zim Thursday, a highly placed source who preffered anonymity confirmed that Mawere suffered a stroke and was rushed to Edenvale Hospital where he is admitted on the third floor.

” Its saddening my brother, indeed Mutumwa is at Edenvale hospital after suffering a massive stroke today (Thursday).

“He was diagnosed of blood clots to the brain and the situation is bad.

“Everyone here is praying for his speedy recovery , he cant speak properly and his condition doesnt allow strong medication lest the clots may bleed in his brain.

“Of course he hasnt been himself lately .

“He didnt fully emotionally recover from the loss of Shabanie (SMM Holdings) and his businesses after putting in years of hard work, sacrificing to drive that battered BMW to save funds and build an empire that just went down easy like that under Mugabe’s rule,” said our source who is a family friend.

Express Mail Zim understands that the MRI cost was charged R16 687 and the family also paid R5 192 for blood tests conducted at Sunninghill Clinic Thursday morning.

In 2004, Mawere was accused of defrauding the government and the government tried to extradite him from South Africa (where he is now a citizen) with no joy.

Mawere’s businesses were ‘specified’ and he made sensational claims that the government had used his money to pay the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Last month he approached the South African courts seeking to bar President Cyril Ramaphosa from contesting in the general elections until he deals with the issue of Zimbabwe’s Reconstruction of State-Indebted Insolvent Companies Act.

Under the Act, the businessman lost his Shabanie Mashava mines (SMM) Holdings which was the biggest asbestos making conglomerate in the country.
