Bitcoin dealer hires car, leaves it  as US$7k loan collateral and disappears

 

Harare- A youthful Harare Bitcoin trader Trevor Musera Sosona is allegedly on the run after misrepresenting to a city car hire that he wanted to hire a vehicle for a day but disappeared into thin air, Express Mail can report. 

Sosona went on to approach a city businessman (name withheld) and asked for a US$7 000 loan leaving the hired car as collateral.

He misrepresented that he was the owner of the car and Express Mail Zim is in possession an affidavit copy wherein the alleged fugitive committed to repayment.

“I solemnly and sincerely swear that this vehicle a white Ford Ranger Reg  number AFN1341 belongs to me and I am legally authorized to leave it as surety/collateral. 

“I have also attached a video of myself attesting to the above.I will however not leave the registration book and as I intend to settle the debt in 24 hours failure of which I will bring the book and authorize the sale of the vehicle for Mumba Money to recover their funds,” read part of the affidavit. 

The matter was reported at Highlands police station and Sosona is a person of interest.

He is believed to have fled to South Africa after also duping unsuspecting individuals through his Bitcoin trading operations that funded his lavish lifestyle.
