August dejavu: CCC youth stoned to death in Glen-View
Harare- POLITICAL violence has reared its ugly head as a CCC activist based in Glen-View has been stoned to death Thursday by a group of thugs that CCC spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere said are linked to the ruling party Zanu PF ,Express Mail Zim can report.
The deceased was identified as Tinashe Chitsunge and he was part of CCC youths who were heading to a rally in Glen-View.
“He was stoned to death by suspected Zanu PF thugs.
“The thugs ambushed a group of our youths when they were heading to a rally in Glen View 7” CCC spokesperson Mahere said.
This incident comes after President Emmerson Mnangagwa has slammed violence and called for a peaceful election.
Police spokesperson Paul Nyathi could not be reached for comment at the time of writing but macabre images of the slain Chitsunge have already gone viral.
Ironically, the murder falls on a date that is two days after a similar gruesome politically motivated violence claimed six people in 2018 .
It has been dubbed the August 1 killings and analysts say Home Affairs ministry must deploy heavy police presence in the area as tempers flare among the warring youths , most of whom are drug addict.
