All systems go as construction of USD 500 million Zim Cyber City kicks off

Projected timeline for first phase completion is 15 months, offices sales inaduated with potential buyers

Harare- Mulk International has set the ball rolling in the construction of the much awaited Zim Cyber City which is set to be game changer and complementing government efforts in infrastracture development.

Express Mail Zim understands that the contractors have kicked off on construction of phase with a timeline projection of 15 months before completion.

Basing on the 3D artistic impression previously released by Mulk International the project is set to compete with best in Africa and other smart cities globally.

The first phase will boast of 50 villas and two homes as well as a dedicated area of duty free shopping and restaurants.

A 7 500 m2 waterbody is also set to be part of the initial phase of the project.

The real estate project was channeled by Zimbabwe Global Investments (ZGI) Special Economic Zone (SEZ) programme, approved by President Mnangagwa and awarded through the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development and Investment Promotion.

“The real work starts now and as you can see, heavy equipment is already on the ground to start civil works,” said ZGI chief executive, ” Ms Tendayi Hlupo-Mamvura told a local daily on Monday.

“We are excited with the project especially given that there will be a new city in this Mt Hampden area and Zim Cyber City has started the ball rolling. The added advantage is that Government has also started upgrading the major roads to the new city and Parliament, and also the road to Charles Prince Airport. From now on, it’s all systems go. Our sales office is also busy and obviously those interested can do so quickly as the villas are selling quickly,” she was qouted as saying.

Dubai based Indian billionaire Shaji UI Mulk is the founder and chairman of Mulk International and he pegged the cost of investment to USD500 million.
