Absurd: Bulawayo man loses fingers after using grenade as key holder
Bulawayo: IN a shocking incident , a Bulawayo man from Burnside lost four fingers when a grenade that he used as a key holder exploded.
The 47-year old man is employed as a gardner and he picked the grenade at a dumpsite oblivious of the fact that it was an explosive.
Bulawayo police spokesperson Abdenico Ncube confirmed the incident and urged members of the public to desist from picking suspicious objects.
“On January 12 at around 3pm he pulled the safety pin of the hand grenade and it exploded twice in his right hand.
“He was taken to United Bulawayo Hospital where he is admitted.
“He lost four right fingers and had half of his palm amputated,” said Ncube.
