Fraud accused Uzumba MP granted bail
Harare- UZUMBA member of parliament Wiriranai Muchemwa, who is facing charges of fraud and theft of trust property, has been granted bail,Express Mail Zim can report.
As part of his bail conditions, he has been ordered to report to Avondale Police Station once every week, reside at the same address, and refrain from interfering with state witnesses.
He is scheduled to return to court on February 6, 2025.
It is alleged that Muchemwa was entrusted with maize meant for distribution to his constituency. However, he reportedly repackaged the maize using South African-branded packaging at a miller in Murehwa.
The repackaged mealie meal was then sold through his right-hand man, Tinashe Choto.
