Just In: Zim,Botswana set to collaborate on morden waste management practisces

Harare- A high powered delegation from Zimbabwe, including Deputy Chief Secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet Engineer Amos Marawa and Geo Pomona Waste Management Executive Chairman and CEO Dr Dilesh Nguwaya on Monday paid a courtesy call on Botswana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr Lemogang Kwape, Express Mail Zim can report.

The purpose of the visit is chiefly for the two neighbours to foster already existing diplomatic ties and exchange notes on how best to tackle morden waste management practices in a collaborative effort.

Minister Kwape emphasised the significance of the visit, highlighting the necessity for African countries to unite in addressing pressing challenges that hinder economic growth and regional cooperation.

The delegation proceeded to the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, where they engaged in discussions focused on the current state of waste management in Botswana.

Presentations outlined the challenges and opportunities within the sector, paving the way for potential areas of cooperation.

This initiative underscores the commitment of both countries to leverage shared knowledge and resources in pursuit of effective waste management solutions that benefit their communities and the environment.

Previously Geo Pomona has implemented a regional skills transfer and welcomed four universities.

SADC heads of states also toured the facility to get an appreciation of the project implementation .
