Gospel music outfit Firm Faith readies new album

The group invited renowed South African accapela group No Limits to grace the launch.

Harare . GOSPEL music outfit Firm Faith is set to launch its tenth album titled “Munesimba” on November 2 2024 at 7 Arts in Harare.

Group member resposible for programs, Pearmer Tanhara, told Express Mail Zim that preparations are now at an advanced stage and fans must expect a special offering.

She said the group has invited renowed South African accapela group No Limits to grace the launch.

“We want to thank our music director Mashall Matsilele for being a visionary and great leader, he has facilitated that on this special project we invited No Limits on our album launch,” said Tanhara.

“The title of this album was derived from personal experiences. As a group we have seen the power of God hence “Munesimba”.

She added “This album is the best that Firm Faith has recorded since its formation more than 20 years ago.

“People have been buying tickets like nobody’s bussiness, and our fear is that we might have choosen a small venue,” said Tanhara.

Tanhara said all the songs on their album are touching.

“All the songs on this album are very touching, there is no song that one will say im going to skip this one.

“God was with us when we where working on this project hence we are inviting everyone from all walks of life to come and expirience this special moment with us.” said Tanhara.

“The songs on this album speak about hope. The messages explain what will happen after this life, thereby answering many questions that we usually have after we lose our loved ones,” she added.

“Tracks on album include “Nyika Ichaguma”, “Munesimba” the tittle track, “Jesus Forgive us” , “He touched me”, “Murindi”, “Zuva Richasvika”, “Angiwanaki”, “The king is coming” , and “Handichada”.

The group music director Marshall Matsilele said the sixteen -member group, which was formed in 2006, had big plans as it prepared to take its music across the borders.

“As we learn to preach the word of God through music, our goal as a group is to take gospel music – especially accapela music international,” he said.

“On this album we have featured a Jamaican based gospel group, Foster Triplets.

“Foster Triplets, consist of blood sisters Malaika, Mahari, and Mikaili,” said Matsilele.

He added ” This Jamaican gospel music singers are well respected in Christian spaces, the sisters have performanced at larger audiences globally and we are confident that they will put us on the world map,” he said.

Matsilele said collaborating with other singers, especially international artists, helps them to break new grounds, push boundaries, and create something truly special.

He said working with others brings new ideas, perspectives, and approaches fostering artistic growth.

“Collaborations provide opportunities to learn from others skills techniques and experiences at the same time increase exposure. On this project we are guaranteed that we will have access to new audiences, we have created a new fan base, and our music is now exposed to new listeners.

“This is in line with our sole mandate, which is to spread and reach everyone with the gospel, especially the second coming of Jesus Christ message,” said Matsilele.

Matsilele said on this album they have worked with the “Foster Sisters” and penial Tambama among other singers.

“This album is very special to me, and i believe it will touch many hearts. I almost quited music after the death of my mother.

“The songs on this album speak about hope. The messages explain what will happen after this life, thereby answering many questions that we usually have after we lose our loved ones.

Firm Faith won the Harare Has Got Talent award in 2012, and they have the following albums under its belt: Maria, Tinevimbo, Munenyasha, Chikristu muAfrica, Muumbi wehari, Whispering Hope, One Day at a Time and Amazwi Angcwele.
