Just In:Corruption accused businessmen Chimombe,Mpofu spotted at court
The reason for their surprise appearance could not be immediately ascertained nor the charges they are answering to
Harare- EMBATTLED businessmen Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu were seen arriving at Harare Magistrates Court Wednesday afternoon.
The duo is embroiled in a scandal involving abuse of the Presidential Goat Scheme through Mpofu’s company Blackdeck.
They presented themselves to Zimbabwe Anti Corruption Commission Monday and were advised that they would be summoned later for questioning.
It is not clear why they came to court but according to the law of the land, Zacc is responsible for investigating corruption cases and when they gather evidence the anti-corruption body forwards the case to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) – a body that is responsible for prosecuting .
