Ironically the new Warriors coach's last name is Tapera which can be loosely translated to "finish" in Shona, but football afficianidos says it does not signal to the end or 'finish' of the national team.

Harare- AFTER months of speculation on the Warriors coach, the ZIFA normalisation commitee has made an announcement on the technical team which saw Manica Diamonds coach Jairos Tapera being appointed head coach and the major highlight and galj in the corridors of the football fratenity is the return of 72-year old Sunday ‘Mhofu’ Marimo who bounced back as technical director.

The former Warriors’ coach and captain is counted among the top footballers to ever emerge out of Zimbabwe.

He has worked extensively in footballing circles including coaching Dynamos and made a historic qualification to the Africa Cup of Nations.

He also coached in the South African Premier League. He was the first coach to take the Zimbabwe National Soccer Team to the AFCON finals held in Tunisia in 2004.
