Presidential borehole drilling scheme in full swing across all provinces

Contractor Prevail Group International deploys installers

Harare -PREVAIL Group has deployed teams for borehole installation across all provinces under the massive Presidential borehole scheme which is underway,Express Mail Zim can report.

Spearheaded by the Zimbabwe National Water Authority (Zinwa), the programme aims to provide portable clean water with Prevail Group International contracted to drill about 10 000 boreholes with irrigation facilities.

Zinwa chief executive Taurayi Maurikira confirmed that their contractor Prevail is already in all provinces and making remarkable progress.

“Each province is being deployed seven teams of installers so that we can get 50 boreholes and business units per day,” he said.

Each business unit comprises of one solar powered borehole,two by 10 000 litre storage tanks,one hectare drip technology garden and two fish ponds.

The development was welcomed by villagers from Dzenga area and most youths have turned into farming.

“I applaud the President for this intiative, now I will be preoccupied with farming projects and stay away from drugs and substance abuse,” said 23-year old Kudakwashe Chimsoro.

The programme is meant to mitigate water challenges and help transform people’s livelihoods, especially in rural communities.

The commitment and progress shown by Prevail Group in executing the project is commendable and reflects their dedication to improving the lives of Zimbabwean citizens. The collaboration between the government, Zinwa, and Prevail Group is crucial in ensuring the success of the borehole installation scheme and achieving its goals of providing clean water and enhancing livelihoods in rural areas.
