Bitter: Award winning scriptwriter Tsungayi Hatitye had a fall out with Malaika Mushandu

In an interview with Express Mail Zim Lifestyle, Hatitye said he was irked by Malaika’s treatment after a good working relationship.

“We had an excellent working relationship but I was dissapointed by the insensitive comments she made after she cancelled the agreement.

” The most important thing stated was to immediately bring back the project laptop whose software I had personally updated and the laptop now contained a lot of my personal information including the cancelled project.

” I then got into a drunken haze which led me to lose the laptop while trying to deliver it back,” he explained.

Malaika was reportedly informed of the loss and was intially empathetic before a sudden sommersault which saw Malaika unleashing police on Hatitye.

“I now live in fear,I was given an ultimatum by one officer of the law who identified themselves as Cuthbert Mawara yet I had agreed may need be, I would replace the laptop on payment terms,” said Hatitye.

Intrestingly, the law enforcement agent who gave Hatitye an ultimatum used the mobile number of one Taurai Chiwara- a known filmmaker attached to Joe Njagu films.

Efforts to get comment from Malaika proved fruitless as her mobile phone went unanswered for the whole week and she also did not respond to messages sent to her.

Malaika has made strides in the film industry with nominations at the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival (TINFF) and Zambia International Film Festival (ZAMIFF) .

She has also ventured into clothing among other entreprenual shots.
