Zim model Brooke Jackson romps into Miss Universe top 10

El Savador- ZIMBABWEAN representative at the this year’ s edition of Miss Universe Brooke Bruk-Jackson has shrugged off competition from 79 other contestants and made it to the top 10 in the Voice For Change category,Express Mail Zim Lifestyle can report.

The 21-year old beau raised the country’s flag at the ongoing 72nd Miss Universe pageant in El Savador.

The reigning queen is Bonney Gabriel from the United States and she is set to crown her successor at the end of the event which kicked off on November 18.

With her current form, Brook is tipped to make it in the top three or even grabbing the coveted crown.

The sassy model was born in Harare in 2002 and stays in Newlands suburb.

She attended Chisipite Senior School and afterwards proceeded to the British Academy of Fashion Design in London and the Beauty Therapy Institute in Cape Town.

After finishing her education, Brooke went on to work as a beauty therapist in Cape Town.

She has worked as a model in Zimbabwe and South Africa since 2019, having first been scouted by South African modeling agency Boss Models in 2017.

She speaks fluent Shona.

Her achievement at a global stage is reminscient of Angeline Musasiwa who came fourth in the Miss World pageant in 1994 where the late Leonard Dembo’s hit song titled Chitekete was jammed.
Lately , the modelling industry in Zimbabwe has been facing a stunted growth due to lack of corporate sponsorship and massive corruption perpetrated by modelling agencies.

” The industry was affected by lack of corporate involvement.

“Corporates were scared away by fly by night modelling agencies who fleece the young girls.

“Back in the days we had the likes of Size 4,Meddusa Promotions,the late Kiki Divaris,Marry Mubaiwa and so forth but now some bogus modelling agencies are sprouting and killing the industry,” said one modelling enthusiast who identified herself as Moreblessing Bvudzijena.
