Zec boss Chigumba eyed for Zacc post as ……….Matanda-Moyo is elevated to PG
Harare- ZIMBABWE Electoral Commision (ZEC) boss Priscilla Chigumba is eyed for the replacement of Loice Matanda-Moyo as Zacc chairperson ,Express Mail can reveal.
Matanda Moyo was this week appointed prosecutor general making her the steward of the apex office in the justice delivery system after minister Ziyambi Ziyambi and Happiness Chikwanha who is the chief secretary of the the Judicial Services Commision.
Impeccable sources told Express Mail Zim that Matanda-Moyo was accorded that appointment after she lamented to President Emmerson Mnangagwa for the litte to zero prosecution rate of high profile corruption cases.
“Matanda-Moyo’s late husband was a close ally of the president that is why he was the face of the Operation Restore Legacy which was a major but patriotic risk after Mugabe’s (the late former president)’ chaotic rule that decimated the bread basket of Southern Africa status.
“He (SB Moyo) was also the chief executive of the company that siphoned funds from the DRC, so appointing Loice (Matanda-Moyo) is strategic and appeasement,” said our source.
Chigumba , who is a no-nonsense character is eyed for her replacement .
Sources say she will be replaced by retired Judge Chiweshe .
