I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the brave men and women of our uniformed forces on this occasion of Defense Forces Day.

It is through their unwavering dedication and selflessness that our nation stands strong and free today.

The UANC is a party that played a pivotal role in the liberation struggle, ensuring the realization of Zimbabwe’s independence. We deeply understand the sacrifice and commitment required to safeguard our nation’s sovereignty, uphold justice, and maintain law and order. It is ingrained in our party’s mission to prioritize the welfare and well-being of the uniformed forces.

As we approach the upcoming elections on the 23rd of August 2023, the UANC vows to continue advocating for the needs and rights of our uniformed forces. We firmly believe that our nation’s security and peace must be safeguarded at all times, especially during the electoral process. It is the duty of our uniformed forces to ensure that peace prevails before, during, and after the elections. The UANC is committed to working tirelessly to create an environment that fosters trust, fairness, and transparency.

To the brave men and women who serve in our defense forces, your valor, dedication, and commitment to our nation are deeply appreciated. Your sacrifices often go unnoticed, but please know that your contributions are invaluable and hold a special place in our hearts.

On this Defense Forces Day, let us remember and honor the fallen heroes who paid the ultimate sacrifice to secure our freedom. Let us also express our gratitude to the families of our uniformed forces, who support their loved ones through thick and thin. Your strength and resilience deserve our utmost appreciation.

As we celebrate Defense Forces Day, let it serve as a reminder of our collective responsibility to protect and uphold the values that define our nation. The UANC remains steadfast in its commitment to the welfare of our uniformed forces and will continue to prioritize their well-being if entrusted with forming the next government.

May the spirit of unity and patriotism continue to guide us as we work towards a brighter future for our beloved Zimbabwe.

In unity and solidarity.
