Supreme court set to hear CCC 12 appeal on Wednesday

Harare- SUPREME Court is Wednesday set to hear the appeal by the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) candidates who were barred from participating in the August 23 elections, Express Mail Zim can report.

According to the 12 candidates’ lawyer Welshman Ncube, the appeal has been set down for Wednesday afternoon.

“The appeal has been set down for 2pm on Wednesday,” said Ncube after a case management meeting was held Monday.

Popularly known as the Bulawayo 12, the dozen was accused of filing their nomination papers after 4pm deadline on June 21.

The dozen then filed an appeal at the Supreme Court and raised nine grounds of appeal.
