ZTA boss fires Chidzidzi and others over ‘unsanctioned’ US$40k holiday allowance, accused of purging Kaseke allies

Harare- THE Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA )boat is rocking in turbulent waters amid reports that an urgent board meeting has been convened to address a potpourri of issues including the suspension of four executives namely chief operating officer Givemore Chidzidzi, human resources director Mr Munyoro, finance director Mr Chipuriwa and one Mr Chidzekete by chief executive Winnie Muchanyuka, Express Mail Zim can reveal.

Express Mail Zim can reveal that the quartet was suspended for unsanctioned holiday allowances amounting to US$40 000 apiece.

“Chidzidzi was COO and worked on acting capacity hence he was not eligible for holiday allowances.

“He then connived with the human resources and finance director to get US$40 000 and the chief executive (Winnie Muchanyuka) was excited and advised the board to suspend them.

“She (Muchanyuka) is purging the former CEO Karikoga Kaseke’s allies in a bid to maintain hegemony,” said an inside source who preffered anonymity.

Curiously, Chidzidzi has been in acting capacity for more than six months which is a complete negation of quasi government organization policy but the chief executive took a blind eye only to open them in this alleged holiday allowance saga.

Express Mail Zim contacted the tourism authority spokesperson Chief Koti who reffered this reporter to the board chairman.

“Well, I can not comment over that issue, it’s beyond my pay grade kindly contact the board chairperson,”said Koti whose cooperation was not questionable when accorded the right to respond.

ZTA is no stranger to scandals which were of late have been sanitized by self exiled former Tourism minister Walter Mzembi.

Mzembi had a ‘no love lost ‘ relationship with former CEO Karikoga Kaseke and their beef was chiefly over women.

Mzembi overturned Kaseke’s decision to suspend tired model Lungile Mathe popularly known as Cyclone Rhee.

Mzembi argued that the suspension was not above board amid reports that he had intrest in the free spirited belle besides been married to an equally beautiful lady Barbara who hails from North America.
