Minister Garwe rolls out borehole drilling project in Murewa North

Murewa- MINISTER of National Housing and Social Amenities and Murewa North member of Parliament Daniel Garwe has this week embarked on a borehole drilling exercise in his province under the Presidential Rural Development Scheme,Express Mail Zim can report.

Garwe held a well attended rally at Chemapango in Ward 16 and he was accompanied by a high powered delegation which included Mashonaland East resident Minister Apollonia Munzverengi and several central committee members.

” As the President (Mnangagwa) directed, we have brought water to you and it is a rarity to have two ministers bracing Chemapango including the provincial chairperson and hordes of central committee members,” said Garwe as he addressed the packed crowd who peacefully gathered in support of Zanu PF ahead of the August 23 Harmonised elections.

Munzverengi also took the opportunity to donate Presidential garden seeds package for the benefit of the rural communities.

Over 700 villages across the country have so far benefitted from the boreholes been drilled by the Zimbabwe National Water Authority (Zinwa) under the Presidential Rural Development Programme.

Under the programme , Zinwa is set to drill and equip a borehole for each of the country’s 35 000 villages by 2025.

Munzverengi therefore took advantage of this development and donated the seeds to empower the nutrition gardens since water was now readily accessible .

Garwe and Munzverengi ‘s combined force is inline with the Second Republic’s accelerated efforts to alleviate poverty among rural communities in tandem with National Development Strategy 1(NDS1).

Through Garwe’s efforts, employment has been created in Murewa North for women and youths thereby improving livelihoods as outlined in the Agriculture and Food System Transformation Strategy whose thrust is to see Zimbabwe achieve an US$8,2 billion agriculture economy by 2025.

Meanwhile, Garwe lost his father Tuesday morning after a long illness.
