Harare- AWARD winning businessman and Zanu PF Mabvuku MP aspirant Pedzisai Scott Sakupwanya ‘s unadulterated desire to serve his constituency has seen him making a pledge to bring legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather to Mabvuku,Express Mail Zim can report.
Sport is a unifying factor and apart from road rehabilitation projects in Mabvuku, he decided to bring a world renowned sportsman to inspire and motivate the youths.
“Yes I can confirm that Floyd will be in the country for two days on July 13 and July 14 and I will take him to Mabvuku.
” He is also from the ghetto so it’s easy for him to connect and it’s also good for the youths to get a success story from the ghetto,” Scott said in a wide ranging radio interview on Capitalk FM last week.
Scott’s move is a major score in promoting sports tourism in Zimbabwe and Mayweather confirmed his imminent visit on his official social media platforms.
Scott is a philanthropist of note and through his Scott Foundation he has managed to help orphans and youths in Mabvuku where he was born 43 years ago and managed to make strides in business.
He runs Better Brands Holdings which has since spread it’s footprint across various sectors of the economy including mining, borehole drilling and petroleum supplies.
He recently engaged Bitumen to rehabilitate tarred roads in Mabvuku.
“I approached Bitumen and asked them for a quotation.
” The figures were huge but I had to sacrifice to serve my community,” he told the Champions League breakfast show presenters Phatisani Sibanda and Tinashe Chikuse.
The feat to bring Mayweather is unprecedented and Scott has proved his financial muscle as he sits on an estimated net worth of US$30 million but obviously the figure is dwarfed by Mayweather who owns a private jet and several mansions.
