Zanu PF imposes ICT minister Muswere as Makoni West candidate

Harare- ICT minister Jenfan Muswere’s defeat in Makoni West has been reversed and he has been declared the winner.

The winner Ruwona was disqualified because his transfer from Matabeleland North to Manicaland was not clear and also his credentials were questionable.

“We tried to follow up his paperwork,he was from Mat North and his credentials are not clear, the hierarchy was not in the picture of his paperwork and the system has flushed him out,” said party spokesperson Chris Mutsvangwa.

Muswere is believed to be President Mnangagwa ‘s blue eyed boy and was instrumental when Mnangagwa skipped the country and fled to South Africa and returned to take over the levers of power after two weeks staying at Justice Maphosa’s house.

Makoni South winner Albert Nyakuedzwa is alleged to have rigged votes against Misheck Mataranyika and a re-run will be conducted.

Mutsvangwa said in the capital, re-runs will be conducted in Churu and Mbare where incidences if violence were noted .

The re-run dates will be duly announced Tuesday .

In Mutare South , Godfrey Harahwa was disqualified for allegedly tampering with ballot papers .

He was battling with businessman Jeffrey Ngome.

The ruling party’s internal polls were highly controversial and divided the party.

It also saw bigwigs being ousted by young Turks.
