Hunt is over: Mabelreign man who shared drugs with school girl nabbed
Harare- THE hunt for the man who was captured on video sharing drugs with a schoolgirl is over following his arrest by Mabelreign Drug Section this week,Express Mail Zim can report.
Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) councillor (ward 16) Denford Ngadziore fired a salvo at the man (whose name was not immediately available) and said he will push for private prosecution.
The man is expected to appear in court Thursday.
In a communique to his subjects in Mabelreign,Ngadziore said he was working closely with local lawyers.
“The man who shared drugs with the Mabelreign schoolgirl was picked up by the police yesterday, on Tuesday, January 31.
“The matter is being handled by Harare Central ZRP Drug Section. Am closely monitoring the case and will advocate for a private prosecution through the assistance of a local Lawyers.
” Justice must be carried out to protect children from drug use,” wrote Ngadziore.
Police spokesperson Paul Nyathi could not be reached for comment at the time of writing.
Last week, this publication joined the nation in the hunt for this menace to society.
Rampant drug abuse in schools has been on the rise with the latest case of 8 learners who were expelled at upmarket Dominican Convent Girls school in the capital.
The incident opened a can of worms and police have intensified investigations to nail the sources of the dangerous drugs .
