When chickens come home to roost: Alistar Chibanda exenorates Nyaradzo Group, issues apology

Harare- When chickens come home to roost!

A social media user and seemingly clout chaser Alistar Chibanda has come across a Damascene moment and exonerated leading funeral services assurer NYARADZO group from any business malpractices .

He made an apology to Nyaradzo in a letter directed to the company’s general manager dated November 29 and fervently apologised for peddling falsehoods and malicious allegations against Nyaradzo Group , in a development that gave a misconception to some section of Nyaradzo group clients.

“We regret there are people who invaded my inbox with comments against Nyaradzo Group with unfounded malicious allegations of business malpractices which are not factual,” wrote Chibanda.

He added:

” I have gone through the tweets and I realized that the comments I made were factually incorrect and defaming. I did not intent to tamish or damage the CEO’s good name, or the good name of Nyaradzo Group company.

I would like to sincerely apologize for my actions and the tweets have since been removed from my Twitter handle.”

Chibanda also made a similar retraction to NSSA boss Arthur Manase after also tweeting defamatory allegations against his person and the entity he leads, on his own admission.

His motive is not known but be he has made a dramatic behavioural metamorphosis and acknowledged his ‘mistake’ which brought rise to conspiracy theories that he probably could have been sponsored for a smear campaign or was simply clout chasing as numbers on social media can now be monetized.

In his letter of apology, he could not categorically state whether his account was hacked or he acted in a keyboard trigger happy mood.

Cyber bulling has become a major challenge in the country with some popular social media users being used as pawns and instruments and conduits to corporate espionage.
