‘Maneta was lucky I didn’t kill her’, says Roki as he relives unceremonious Big Brother exit

Harare- TALENTED musician Rockford Josphats Chitsvatsva has relived his booting out of reality television show Big Brother Stargame (2012) more than a decade ago and revealed that he could have killed Zimbabwean housemate Maneta Mazanhi , Express Mail Zim can reveal.

In a recorded wide ranging interview with Roki at Passion Java Records studio, Roki said his patriotism and love of Zimbabwe forced him to be involved in a brawl with the vivacious Maneta.

The two had reached the final stages of clinching the top prize when Maneta spoke ill of Zimbabwe forcing the patriotic Roki, whose mother is a liberation war hero, to literally play the big brother role and ‘disciplined’ her.

This led to the duo’s heartbreaking disqualification as they had contravened M-Net and series producers Endemol’s rules regarding physical violence.

“She was lucky I didn’t kill her , noone says bad stuff about Zimbabwe and I fold my hands, ” said Roki in jest.

“She is a nice and beautiful woman but if anyone provokes my country I don’t take it lightly,I am a Zimbabwean first before anything else,” explained Roki who however went on to speak glowingly on Maneta and wished her well in her endeavours.

Roki and Maneta had a brawl and threw fluids at each other after Maneta had provoked the Patati Patata hitmaker and prolific song writer who carries the name Soubrat when he adopts his alter ego on songwriting.

Roki’s songwriting talent can leave Teddy Riley or Kenneth ‘Babyface’ Edmonds green with envy.

In the disqualification speech, the BBA host Biggie said :

“After you had both thrown fluids over each other earlier in the day, Big Brother asked you both to show restraint -and neither of you did.

” As you are both no doubt aware, you have left Big Brother with absolutely no choice.

“In terms of House Rules you have both been disqualified from the game.”

This development was heartbreaking to the nation as Roki had proven beyond any reasonable doubt to be the viewers’ favourite to scoop the hot one- numbers don’t lie !

Leggy Zambian housemate Mampi who was known in the house as ‘Thunder Thighs’ was one of the first housemates to register their heartbreaks.

She quickly flew in to Harare and did a single with Roki where she revealed the intimate relationship she had with both Roki and Maneta.

“I was close to the two more than anybody else in the house and if I was not evicted earlier, this fight could have been avoided
“Our relationship goes back to how Zambians relate to Zimbabweans and if asked who was closer to me between Roki and Maneta I would say both,” she was qouted as saying.

Maneta, a former Zinara employee received a car (VW Bug) from businessman Wicknell Chivayo then known as B.I.G because of his body frame and relative similarities to the late American rapper Christopher Wallace better known as Notorious B.I.G or Biggie- Smalls.
He also seem to like Biggie -Smalls as he always dons tees with the late rapper’s face.

B.I.G bought the car after the two were rumoured to have had an affair, but both parties later revealed that their relationship do not go beyond the ‘friends zone’.

Maneta has been out of the limelight and playing a ‘down low’.

Efforts by Express Mail Zim to trace her and what she is up to now, hit a snag she has managed to stay away from the razz matazz far from the glitz and glamour lifestyle.

The advent of new media has given space to the likes of Madam Boss, Mai TT,Lorraine Guyo and like -minded socialites and drama queens who seem to be doing well in pulling Hollywood like stunts and monetizing their ‘ A- game’-l – especially at a time when their target market is gullible due to the high unemployment rate in the country!
