Just In: Manica Diamonds fires coach Nhumwa

Manica Diamonds football club has sacked its head coach Johanisi Nhumwa and his technical team. 

In a statement seen by Express Mail Zim, the club announced that the development was reached “by mutual agreement”. 

Accordingly, the club appointed Jairos Tapera as the new substantive head coach and he will be assisted by Tafadzwa Mashiri, Patrick Mandizha and Thembinkosi Sibanda. 

“Manica Diamonds football Club would like to inform all its stakeholders that the club has parted ways with Head Coach Johanisi Nhumwa and his Technical team by mutual agreement,” read the statement. 

“We sincerely appreciate the services rendered by the Technical team to the

Club and we wish them well in their future endeavors.

“Meanwhile the Club has appointed Jairos Tapera as the new substantive Head Coach and he will be assisted by Tafadzwa Mashiri, Patrick Mandizha and Thembinkosi Sibanda. Ticharambana Zikai remains the Team Manager.”

Manica Diamonds was yesterday beaten 1-0 by Dynamos in the Castle Lager Premiership encounter in Mutare, thanks to Frank Makarati’s 67th-minute strike.
