Chiweshe man murders uncle on Independence Day

Chiweshe – A horrifying incident has left the Chiweshe community in shock after a man was discovered dead, tied to a tree,Express Mail Zim has heard.

National Police Spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed the incident.

Nyathi said the suspect is a relative of the deceased.

“On April 18, 2025, police in Chombira arrested 24-year-old Takudzwa Chirunga in connection with a murder that took place at Mkwachimba River in Chiweshe. The suspect is accused of killing his uncle, 54-year-old Mailosi Chirunga,” said Commissioner Nyathi.

The victim was reportedly found seated and slumped against a tree, with a red cloth covering his nose and mouth, and tied to the tree.
