IMC Communications champions Innovation in Line with Vision 2030

Harare- The ICT sector in Zimbabwe has changed the game through the official launch of an innovative state-of-the-art corporate headquarters in Kensington ,Harare.

Express Mail Zim graced the event Monday which was headlined by a display of a cutting-edge Digital Experience Centre and an Innovation Hub for students.

This game changing initiative is set to accelerate Zimbabwe’s digital transformation while equipping young innovators with essential technological skills.

Speaking at the launch in Harare, Information Communication Technology, Postal, and Courier Services Minister Tatenda Mavetera applauded IMC Communications ’s investment in advanced technology and its alignment with Vision 2030.

“I am honored to join you today (Monday) as we celebrate the grand opening of IMC’s new headquarters here in Avondale (sic) (Kensington precisely) Harare,” said Mavetera.

She emphasized that this facility represents a major step in modernizing key sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, and education through digital solutions.

“The launch of IMC’s Digital Experience Centre stands as a testament to the transformative power of ICT infrastructure, a key pillar of President Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030,” she added.

She further noted that the centre will also serve as the home of the IMC Innovation Hub, designed specifically for students.

The hub aims to provide young Zimbabweans with hands-on experience in emerging technologies, reinforcing the Government’s Education 5.0 model, which prioritizes research, innovation, and industrialization.

“The IMC Innovation Hub is a clear demonstration of Vision 2030’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering local innovation,” said Mavetera.

“By equipping young people with practical experience in advanced technologies, this initiative directly supports the government’s Education 5.0 strategy.”

She encouraged other telecommunication companies (telcos) to invest in similar initiatives, complementing the government’s broader efforts, including the development of a technology park in Harare.

The launch showcased IMC’s vital role in Zimbabwe’s digital transformation.

The new headquarters and its accompanying facilities are expected to serve as a launchpad for startups and entrepreneurs, producing a skilled workforce to drive the country’s knowledge economy.

Reaffirming the Government’s support for such initiatives, Mavetere stressed the crucial role of connectivity in fostering innovation and economic progress.

“As we mark this milestone, we must recognize that IMC’s achievements are Zimbabwe’s achievements. Together, we are transforming Vision 2030 from a concept into reality—step by step, connection by connection,” she remarked wearing her signature smile.

Beyond serving individual users, the IMC Digital Experience Centre is also designed to help businesses leverage digital tools to remain competitive in an increasingly technology-driven world.

The facility reflects the private sector’s commitment to innovation and customer-focused solutions.

Mavetera commended private sector efforts and urged continued collaboration between public and private entities to ensure Zimbabwe remains at the forefront of digital transformation.

Present was ICT deputy minister,board chair Wilson Manase, businessman Nash Chavi, stakeholders in the ICT sector and members from the fourth estate.
