One hundred families from Epworth, under the Yemuranai Association for Persons with Disabilities, received food hampers from Gracious Sakupwanya of the Scott Foundation.
During the handover ceremony, the Foundation’s representative encouraged persons with disabilities to value themselves and take charge of their destiny. She assured them that the Foundation remains committed to supporting them whenever the need arises as they continue mobilizing resources.
“As a Foundation, we have been working closely with the Yemuranai Association to ensure that persons with disabilities receive the assistance they need. This time, we decided to provide food hampers because food is one of the most essential needs,” said Mai Sakupwanya.
Yemuranai Association founder Junet Banda expressed gratitude to the Foundation for consistently prioritizing Epworth in its donations.
“We have come a long way with the Scott Foundation. Since 2019, they have been supporting us through various donations,” Banda said.
She also acknowledged the Foundation for recently donating a wheelchair to an elderly woman who had long been seeking assistance due to mobility challenges.
“Persons with disabilities face significant challenges in providing for their families, as some are unable to work due to their conditions. These food hampers will go a long way in helping them feed their families,” Banda added.
As a token of appreciation for the Foundation’s unwavering support, the Yemuranai Association presented Gracious Sakupwanya with a special watch.
