HCC recognises Eastwind Trust property developers

Harare- Harare City Council (HCC) has said that it recognises Eastwind Trust as one of the 16 land developers in Tafara-Mabvuku area whose operations are set for regularisation.

The recognition has put an end to speculation on the developer’s legit operations at Donnybrook Farm where it is developing 395 residential and commercial stands.

Eastwind Trust also got a High Court judgement in its favour against the ownership of the land in question after a company owned by former Mt Pleasant MP, Jason Passade, Homegram, claimed ownership of the same piece of land.

According to a letter dated December 19, 2023 addressed to ZRP Ruwa, HCC Housing and Community Services director, Addmore Nhekairo, confirmed that the High Court ruled in favour of Eastwind Trust.

“Please be advised that the land in dispute is council land. However, council has received a request by Eastwind Trust for regularisation and their request is still under consideration,” wrote Nhekairo.

“Further take note that we have taken note of the High Court order HC6331/23 granted in favour of Eastwind Trust. Council shall stand guided by the said High Court order.”
